I Need A Forest Fire

Letterpress’d to success.

There is a song I listened to over and over (and over) again for an entire summer. I internalized the beautiful brutality of a forest fire and used it as an ethos for change. I made this letterpress print at The Arm in Brooklyn for all those on a similar journey.

The FINAL FACT

After a major wildfire new vegetation will grow in the charred areas— seeds stored in the forest floor begin to germinate. Some trees begin to sprout branches from basal buds of dead trees.

Some species even rely upon wildfire for propagation like some pines that are sealed by a resinous bond which can only be cracked open by the high temperatures.
